I am a 42 year old construction worker by day and a CrossFit Coach/Trainer by night. This wasn’t always my profession, it was abusing alcohol and destroying my family. I found CrossFit by chance and it changed my life! It opened so many positive and healthy friendships. CrossFit allowed me to find myself and see that I needed to fix myself before I could continue in any way further in life. Fast forward to COVID pandemic, Courtney from No Matter What Apparel reached out to the fitness community. She was looking for coaches to volunteer for Zoom classes. Courtney explained what Reps for Responders is doing for the first responders. When she finished explaining I was 100% in, whatever I could do I was gonna! These men and women give their time, energy, wellbeing, safety, etc for their communities for very little in return. What I learned is many suffer from PSTD, substance abuse, depression, and more. These real life hero’s need a place to turn for guidance much like the people they are helping. It didn’t take long to see Reps for Responders was a safe haven where they can find online groups, gyms, and information to help guide them in the right direction. There is no judgement, it’s confidential, and a great way to see they are not alone. This group really embraces all, if you are hurting, know someone that is suffering, have questions or concerns get in touch! One day at a time is how I deal with what life throws at me. I needed help to realize that. Thank you for all you have done for me! My small contribution doesn’t compare to the piece of mind you have given me.
